Hello world!

Welcome one and all!

Today is my first day in the Brave New World of Cyberspace after years of infrequent forays.

Here we can talk about all things Handyman- how to fix things that should not be broken before they are ruined beyond all repair.

Questions and comments are welcome.

Hi, I hope you can help me. I am doing a VA refi and had a termite inspection. No termites, but there is some dry rot on some of the facia and a couple small pieces of ship lapping or starter boards. Questions: 1- Is there a way to repair/replace these small pieces of ship lapping without having to tear up my roof and redo it? 2- Is there a way to replace the facia on the gables on the front of my home, without tearing off roofing? Thanks! John

    • Thanks for the questions. The details, as always, make the difference in the repairs you describe. The age of the house, the condition of the roof, the style of the various trim boards all determine the final outcome of the job. If you can link to a picture of your particular location it would be easier to give suggestions over the internet. Even so, a detailed examination is still the best way to find the best solution to your repair. Many thanks for the visit!
